Bee Network is a community for people who want to understand bees more deeply.
We begin with practical backyard beekeeping: colony biology, seasonal rhythms, swarming, queens and drones, hive health, Varroa, forage, genetics, and learning how to read a colony.
But the hive is only part of the story.
We will follow bees outward into flowers, trees, landscapes, wild nests, free-living colonies, swarm mapping, citizen science, treatment-free and low-intervention management, sanctuary, and the question of how much freedom we can responsibly give the bees.
Our starting principle is simple:
Learn how bees live before deciding how they should be managed.
Science, experience, tradition, observation, and philosophy all have a place here, but they are not the same thing.
Bee Network is for beginners and experienced bee nurturers alike.
Observe carefully. Ask better questions. Share what we learn.
And follow the bees beyond the hive.
