Write something
Decisions, decisions
I know I must be patient with my newish channel. But I'm once again wondering if I should keep it or not. It's called Solopreneur Shortcuts, and my first idea was to share tools and tips I use in my business and share affiliate links with them. But that's more of a hobby channel, actually. Because my main business is writing. I have two lists and clearly fiction writers buy more and they DO more. They write. A lot of my IM list buys products and do nothing. Looking for the one. And I need to focus 80% of my time and energy on growing my writers list. Right now I have a strict plan from 7 to 12 every day, four days a week. And 2 1/2 hour of those 20 are taken up by YouTube video creation. I guess that by writing about my question here, I answered my own question. Solopreneur Shortcuts will go to the hobby area with making World of Warcraft gold-making videos. Writing truly is thinking. Should I delete this? Maybe. Or maybe someone else had similar thoughts, so I'll leave it for now.
My latest video went viral
Sort of, hahaha. It has the most views of them all. Previous big one (about Obsidian) has 80+ views. I think I used an outlier title for this one. Not sure. Ignore the one at the top. It's just a test, same video made with another program.

Tella
Today, I tried Tella for the first time (using David's link of course). I have a question near the bottom . . . I messed around a bit, got a Danish transcript (GRRR) from super accent-free perfect English (no?). I couldn't make the beta editor work so I used the classic. But I actually like it and it's easier than Descript and cheaper. Although their cheapest version has their water mark, so you really don't have a choice I would say. I used a couple of its automated AI features. it removed words that it thought was "um" but wasn't, so I had to add them back. I think it does that with your videos, too, @David Frizzell . I had added my dog's name, Nefnef, to the dictionary and it failed the first time but got it right later in the video. The subtitles are pretty good. I fixed the few mistakes it made and they are definitely better than YouTube's own. I'm not sure if I sign up now or wait until Black Friday and use David's link again there. With the currency value of dollars going down every month, I'm starting to feel it hard, so I'm being a cheapskate. Okay, I'm finally getting to the point. It confuses me that when I start the program, I only see the webcam. Nothing else. Oh, yes, and a label at the top of my screen. The editing only takes place in Chrome. Is that correct or am I doing something wrong?
🎥 Anybody Want to Get Better on Camera With Me?
I’m thinking about signing up for this 30-Day Talking to Camera Challenge. Even after making YouTube videos for years, I still strive to get better at speaking clearly, holding attention, showing more personality, and not needing 47 takes to say one sentence. 😂 It’s about 15–20 minutes a day for 30 days, and the program is currently $297. If a few BBU members want to do it too, I thought we could go through the challenge together, keep each other accountable, share our progress, and possibly do a weekly check-in inside BBU. I wouldn’t charge anything extra for our BBU accountability group. Everyone would just need to purchase their own copy of the program. Here’s the challenge details:https://beachbum--lifestylefilmblog.thrivecart.com/30-day-talking-to-camera-program/ Would anybody actually want to do this with me? Comment I’m interested before I talk myself out of it. 😂
