"WHOEVER DIES CLOTHED IN BROWN SCAPULAR SHALL NOT SUFFER ETERNAL FIRE."
Today, we celebrate the feast day of St. Simon Stock, a pivotal figure in Carmelite tradition, known for receiving the Brown Scapular as a sign of Mary’s protection and devotion. The Brown Scapular, originating from the Carmelite Order on Mt. Carmel, symbolizes love and devotion to Our Lady of Mount Carmel and reflects the monastic habit worn by monks, now adapted for laypeople as a small woolen sign of faith. As emphasized by Lúcia of Fátima, the scapular is closely linked to the rosary, together representing essential elements of Catholic devotion and consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
