When everything feels important at once — how do you stay clear as a dad?
I’ve noticed how quickly you can slip into a feeling of “too much” as a father.
Between work, family, staying fit, and trying to build something on the side, new thoughts suddenly appear:
global politics, AI, the future in your country, the safety of your family.
Sometimes I ask myself:
→ Am I overthinking this?
→ Or is this just responsibility kicking in at some point?
→ And yes… even thoughts like: Should I consider leaving my country long-term?
I’m curious how you handle this:
• Do you consciously ignore these topics?
• Do you have clear rules (e.g. limiting news consumption)?
• Do you take concrete steps to prepare your family?
• Or is leaving your country something you think about — or not at all?
My goal is actually simple: Stay clear. Stay healhty (mentally and physically). Stay capable. Be there for my family.
Right now, I try to focus on three levels:
  1. Control: Health, family, income / skills
  2. Preparation: Emergency fund, basic things (documents, some cash, a bit of food) — but kept intentionally minimal
  3. Acceptance: Everything I can’t control, plus being intentional about media & input
How do you approach this?
While I have to admit that especially 3. is difficult for me.
