Many of you know that I am a service missionary in the addiction recovery program for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
In the manual we use it says “We were finally willing to abstain when the pain of the problem became worse than the pain of the solution. Have you come to that point yet?”
I’ve been relating this to the way I feel when I look in the mirror. I’m not overweight by any means, just not where I want to be. For me, the pain of not being jacked has become worse than the pain of waking up early and going to the gym 😂
There are lots of goals I could set. Track macros, work out, get my steps in, etc. rather than overwhelm myself with a list of things I need to do each day, I’ve decided to make one goal — wake up at 5 AM. I know if I can just accomplish this one goal, the rest will fall into place. It’ll be easy to go to the gym once I’m awake. Once I go to the gym, it’ll be easy to track food and track macros. And so on.
Sometimes it’s not a list of things we need to do. Rather, it’s one thing that will make the most impact. What’s the one thing you can do such that by doing it everything else becomes easier or unnecessary? For me, it’s waking up on time, every time.
I commit! Do you? 👊🏼
