Today’s Foraging Adventure 🍄
Didn’t find any hen of the woods (maitake) mushrooms today — sometimes the hunt itself is the reward! Still, it turned into a great learning day in the woods.
I filmed a short video on how to identify oak trees (where hens like to grow!) and another quick one on wild comfrey — an easy-to-spot fall plant you’ve probably walked past a hundred times.
I’ll be sharing both videos here soon. Even when you don’t find what you’re looking for, nature always gives you something to learn. 🌳🍂
Might look again tomorrow. I love having hen all year round if I can have it.
