🌳🍄 Maitake Hunt Tomorrow! 🍄🌳
Tomorrow I’ll be heading out in search of Hen of the Woods (Grifola frondosa) — also called Maitake, which in Japanese means “dancing mushroom” (because people would dance with joy when they found it!).
These amazing mushrooms grow at the base of mature oak trees, and I’ll show you how to identify both the trees and the mushrooms themselves. Once we find some, I’ll walk through:
✅ How to properly clean them
✅ The best ways to store them for freshness
✅ A few of my favorite recipes to enjoy this wild harvest
Excited to share the adventure with
you all! 🍂✨
