Storytime: Do You Remember Your First Lobby That Wowed You?
I do. 1999. Cable Beach Resort, Nassau, Bahamas. Sitting on the most stunning white beach. (It turned into the Melia years later.) Walking into that lobby was like walking into a MALL. So massive. Bright. Breezy. I didn't even care to see the room. I was there with about 20 young ladies for a dance conference. I was 19. And this was my first time witnessing what travel could actually offer. That lobby might've sparked my entire addiction. Plush carpeted areas with beautiful furniture. Architecture that made you stop and look up. People everywhere. Energy. Life. Walking distance from the top restaurants. I think one was called Senor Frog (don't quote me). The ribs were falling off the bone. Beef ribs with a sweet aftertaste. So fresh. Everything there felt rich and wholesome. But back to the resort. I loved that lobby. The way it looked out at the massive pool area (more on pools coming soon...). That's when I knew. This - hotels, lobbies, travel, the whole experience - this was going to be my thing. Fellow addicts: Do you remember the first hotel lobby that wowed you? Where was it? How old were you? Drop your story below. Let's go down memory lane. Found the pic of me in the room of this hotel. Don't judge me lol. ~ JaQuay

Lobby Obsession: InterContinental Dubai Marina Kept Me Up All Night
Okay so confession time. I was collecting lobbies for my addiction (as one does at 2am) and I ran across InterContinental Dubai Marina. And I just... stopped. For a whole night. Researching it. Scrolling every photo I could find. Reading reviews just to see if anyone else saw what I was seeing. 5.0 star property. And the lobby? Unmatched. I've seen THOUSANDS of massive, awe-striking lobbies. This one is different. What got me: The space. The class. The architecture. So well thought out. Every angle feels intentional. The dim lighting creates this adults-only vibe that can't be replicated. Not too dark. Just moody enough. Sophisticated. I pictured myself having one of the best gatherings in this lobby. Waiting for an Uber. Hanging out discussing late-night Dubai adventures. Just... existing in that space. I'm sure it smells like brand new leather mixed with that department store sweetness. Fresh. Expensive. The kind of scent you notice the second you walk in. Check-in would probably be faster than you'd like because you'd want to linger in this lobby longer. 😂 I haven't stayed here yet. But it's on THE list. The "I will make this happen" list. Fellow addicts: Have you ever lost a whole night researching a hotel lobby? Drop the property below. Let's feed each other's addiction. New Fix Alert: The Regent Bali Canggu Just Opened
Okay fellow addicts, I need to share my latest find. The Regent Bali Canggu - Just opened in 2024. Right on Canggu Beach. What’s feeding my addiction: Every suite has full ocean views (not “partial” - FULL). Floor-to-ceiling windows. Private balconies. Some have plunge pools. Multiple infinity pools cascading toward the beach. The main one is 50 meters overlooking the ocean. I’ve scrolled past photos of this pool at least 47 times. Open-air Balinese lobby with massive carved wood pillars. (My other addiction) Traditional meets modern luxury. The kind where you stop mid-check-in just to stare. Already hitting 4.9 star reviews. I can just imagine how beautiful it is in person! People keep saying “staff anticipates needs before you ask” and “best sunrise views in Bali.” Rooms start around $400-600/night. Not cheap, but for a brand new Regent with these views? That’s the level. This checks every box on my resort addict checklist. Who else is adding this to their list? Drop a 🙋‍♀️ if you’re relapsing with me. CLICK HERE TO SEE MORE 👉🏽 https://expedia.com/affiliates/canggu-hotels-regent-bali-canggu.GSUfNuB Real talk: This is an affiliate link.
