Storytime: Do You Remember Your First Lobby That Wowed You?
I do. 1999. Cable Beach Resort, Nassau, Bahamas. Sitting on the most stunning white beach. (It turned into the Melia years later.) Walking into that lobby was like walking into a MALL. So massive. Bright. Breezy. I didn't even care to see the room. I was there with about 20 young ladies for a dance conference. I was 19. And this was my first time witnessing what travel could actually offer. That lobby might've sparked my entire addiction. Plush carpeted areas with beautiful furniture. Architecture that made you stop and look up. People everywhere. Energy. Life. Walking distance from the top restaurants. I think one was called Senor Frog (don't quote me). The ribs were falling off the bone. Beef ribs with a sweet aftertaste. So fresh. Everything there felt rich and wholesome. But back to the resort. I loved that lobby. The way it looked out at the massive pool area (more on pools coming soon...). That's when I knew. This - hotels, lobbies, travel, the whole experience - this was going to be my thing. Fellow addicts: Do you remember the first hotel lobby that wowed you? Where was it? How old were you? Drop your story below. Let's go down memory lane. Found the pic of me in the room of this hotel. Don't judge me lol. ~ JaQuay
