The diagnosis qualified you. The bankruptcy qualified you. The broken marriage qualified you. The addiction you came out of qualified you. God wastes nothing. Not one day of your pain. Now go build something with it.

Do not skip this one. Write the first paragraph of your book this weekend. Not the whole chapter. Not the outline. Just the first paragraph. Start with the moment everything changed. Put yourself back in that room, that hospital, that car, that conversation. Describe what you saw. What you felt. What you thought was about to happen. That paragraph is the door your reader walks through. Make it real. Post it here when you write it. Even a rough draft. The community will celebrate it with you.
