Welcome
Welcome to Autism Care With Carra 💙 I want to personally welcome each of you and thank you for being here. This community was created to provide real, practical, autism-centered education and support for parents and caregivers. My mission is to help families better understand autistic children and learn how to support their nervous systems, communication, and emotional regulation. Many behaviors that people see as “challenging” are actually signs of overwhelm, sensory needs, or communication differences — not defiance. Inside this community, I will be teaching using the CARE Method™: C – Connect Before Correct A – Assess the Need R – Regulate the Nervous System E – Empower Through Structure This approach focuses on understanding the child first, then providing the structure and support they need to succeed. Over the coming weeks, I will be sharing: • Parent education • Behavior strategies • Caregiver training • Nervous system regulation tools • Downloadable resources This is a safe, supportive space to learn and grow. If you feel comfortable, introduce yourself and share the age of your child or the caregiving role you have 💙 — Carra Care

Regulating my emotions
As adults we don’t have all the answers. So why should we expect children to not cry when upset, don’t throw tantrums to show frustration, or just sit and be quiet when they have something to express??? This week has a mental and emotional struggle for me. I got stressed (causing internal pain), I cried, I broke down, I had to rest more than usual and it was all ways of me dealing with my emotions. When I looked back and realized how my reactions to my situation had a negative effect on me I noticed how I could have changed it. I could have stayed present and chose to accept the facts and that I can’t control what’s happening but I can control how I react to it. My spirit, faith, or being is not broken because of it so why should I accept the situation as being “bad”??? I was aware of my situation I chose to accept it as “bad” And I acted out of fear
