Welcome Post ( ✦Start Here✦ )
Heya! Thanks for joining ◝(ᵔᗜᵔ)◜ If you’ve imagined stories while listening to music and want to make them into animated music videos, this is the place to be! I’m Arwen ( a newbie animator and college student ദ്ദി(ᵔᗜᵔ)) who created this community as a resource hub for fellow non animators who want to get started. To be blunt- I’m new. I’m only a few steps ahead of you guys. Which is good news! This means the curriculum is being built in real time and will be created with your obstacles in mind. Not someone else's and not what I think you guys need. But where you’re currently at and what’s stopping you right now. To get started, 1. Comment below “here” so I know you’re here and not a robot (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶) 2. Peek around the community! Feel free to look at posts or classroom modules.  𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 Future Plans: 1.  Calendar Access: $1 [which includes access to these accountability events] -> Quick Win Starter Calls ( Calls designed to get you a quick win within a few days so that you’ll get the motivation and movement to start ) -> Library Study Sessions ( Study sessions where we work on music, Youtube videos, etc. this is mostly a quiet hour to get stuff done ) 2. I'd like to get good at making animated music videos ( and sharing the behind the scenes ) + Case Study. Right now- I'm a noob but not for long >:) You guys are the early bird MVPS. So feel free to ask any questions.
Animators Survival Kit Book
This is one of my favorite books that I wanted to share, it talks about the 12 principles of animation and goes into walk cycles, etc. So far, I think it's a great resource and I've heard it's an essential book for animators so I just wanted to share (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶) Here's an amazon link if you're interested: https://amzn.to/4hwmANh Here's a short 2 minute video of the first exercise in the book (If video is more your style): https://youtu.be/A924yjJpSXQ?si=mNCCDIyez6kG7nRd

Background Tips
I wanted to share my process on how I make my backgrounds, in case they help (^^) 1. Choose a reference ( I usually go with Pinterest ) 2. Sketch, Trace, Photo bash, etc.? It's okay to use whatever method, just be sure you give credit where it's due. For example, I traced this image so I make sure to be transparent about it & mention it as a reference. But I digitally watercolored it to my preference so it's more my style. Use whatever tools you want, just be kind and honest about it 😊💕✨ 3. Reduce your colors at first- you can get multiple ranges from just one color. So I recommend choosing 3 at most when you're getting started ✨
