Most dogs that come to AQK9 don’t arrive with a clean slate. They come with frustration, confusion, and what we call a DWI… a dog with issues.
For over 20 years, I’ve worked with those dogs—the ones people worry about—and I’ve seen what can happen when they’re given clear guidance and a fair chance. It’s not about quick fixes. It’s about building understanding, trust, and a better life together.
Since 2005, thousands of dogs and their people have walked through our doors, each with their own story—and many leaving with a new one.
Brembo (7-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier) and Fiz (5-year-old beagle mix) are pictured here. They help lead the way and remind me daily why this work matters.
