I’m currently on Chapter 1.5.1, learning about the phospholipid bilayer. I understand that the membrane is selectively permeable, but I’m curious: if the lipid bilayer is constantly moving and its phospholipids can shift around, how does the cell maintain precise control over what enters and exits?
