The ancestral Diet is a philosophy of balance, prioritizing animal-based foods for irreplaceable nutrients and mitochondrial fuel, complemented by curated plants for resilience and longevity. Core principles include: feeding mitochondria with fats and proteins from animals for energy and hormonal optimization; eliminating deficiencies using bioavailable sources to meet optimal micronutrient levels daily; harnessing plant power selectively with herbs, berries, and low-anti-nutrient vegetables for anti-inflammatory benefits, avoiding gut-damaging lectins or oxalates; and integrating performance by timing carbs around activity to support recovery, family life, and long-term health. This ethos counters modern dietary flaws—veganism’s neglect of evolutionary needs and unchecked carnivore’s oversight of plant compounds’ proven roles in reducing oxidative stress.
