Day 5 – My Fan’s Before & After
1. Does your before describe one specific moment?
Answer:
My listener is sitting in their car after work, staring at the steering wheel because they’re mentally exhausted. They’re carrying pain nobody around them can see, and for a few minutes, they just sit in silence before going inside.
2. Do they feel recognized—not just described?
Answer:
Yes. I want them to read it and think, “That’s exactly how I’ve been feeling.” I focus on the moments people hide—sleepless nights, fake smiles, and fighting battles in silence.
3. Does your after show one small real moment?
Answer:
Yes. The after isn’t that their problems disappear. It’s that they hit replay because, for the first time in a while, they feel understood.
4. Is it written from your fan’s experience?
Answer:Yes. It’s about them, not me. I want every lyric to make them feel like someone finally understands what they’re carrying.
5. Would a complete stranger want to hear your music after reading this?
Answer: Yes. I want them to think, “If this person understands me this well before I even hear a song, I need to hear what they’re saying.”
