I’m not gonna lie, I’ve been chewing on this one for a while. I set up my Skool and created a lot of the courses under AuDacious Living Skool having ‘niched’ down to AuDHD and AuDHD business owners, professionals and creatives… And as with many of my AuDHD kin, man do I hate a fucking box! I’ve felt immensely trapped with ‘niching down’ especially within pathology and even though this is still a ‘niche’ or sorts, it’s sans pathology, which feels much more aligned for me. Whilst I’m grateful for everything I have learned and still learn within neurodivergent fields and communities; they aren’t technically my field, nor my field of interest. I am diagnosed autistic and didn’t follow through with the advisory to go through with ADHD diagnosis, in part, because of how fucking intense and disruptive and triggering the autistic diagnosis process was (which I talk about in my book, the one I’m serialising on my Substack). With this, I am also not learning all of the terminology. My background and my fields of interest span a huge range of fields and processes and even though neurodivergence-understanding is part of that; and of course has its part in how and why my brain and body work this way; I’m not here to teach about that. It’s not my zone of genius. I’m here to teach other people who have the same multipassionate, polymath way of thinking and living how to harness those qualities and skills as their advantage in building a lifestyle supportive of (often) rapid changes and interests as a strength and not a weakness. How to use those same skills to use critical thinking, self-discovery and curiousity to examine the rules often applied to food, exercise and life-living routines and choices and ask is this true? Is this true for me? And how can I take what I know about this and know about myself and create something that really fucking fits? How can I release the shoulds’ so entrenched in diet and fitness culture and see if there is something that makes me ACTUALLY love what I’m doing so much that I’m never questioning my self worth, ‘willpower’ or body and energetic peaks and flows and instead trusting my own body’s wisdom and my own desires.
