I love sharing the knowledge of birds I've acquired over time, ultimately patch birding is about being out in the field, ideally early in the morning and pushing yourself to ID everything you see and hear.
I fail every day, poor views, flying away from me, too late on it, but when you accept you have to let go of some birds, you can move on to the next.
I'm passionate about helping my friends see my self founds, you can relax while they make their way, but of course lots of things don't stay long enough, so a record shot or video clip can help you confirm your ID.
The great thing about birds is that you can enjoy them pretty much wherever you go, for me I'm at my calmest when I'm birding.
