Dusting off the group for some big news!! Want a little help with nutrition and meals? Altered is now a partner of Fit Fresh as a meal pickup location! I'm ecstatic to have Jon and his company connected with the gym. I've used Fit Fresh for over a year to help with meal prep, filling the gap for days I know I'll be busy - like early morning coaching days. Those chicken breakfast burritos are amazing! You can read the full story on their website, but the goal is always value, nutritious, minimally processed, and delicious meals. No minimum. No subscription. Order 1 or 100 things! Menu rotates weekly for the lunch/dinner meals and specials. Breakfast items and some of the basic meals (chicken/bison, veggie, rice, or the sandwiches) are always available Head to fitfreshfast.com to place an order by Sunday night to have it delivered by Wed of that week. Nutrition Got A Little Easier!
One of the biggest hurdles with nutrition can be tracking food. There are times I don't feel like it or am in a rush. Well. I've got news for you! Cronometer just got better! If you want to streamline tracking, give the new photo logging a try. It's in beta right now. Seems to be pretty accurate though with finding the food items. I tweaked the servings a little after it analyzed the image. Only hiccup was it claimed thw Taco sauce was barbecue. Having trouble or questions? Let us know!

Eating "clean", and stuck on progress?
Controversial content - clean eating my be holding you back 👀 If your goal is steictly performance or to have a solid training session even in a deficit, you may need to let go of control. Carbs and ultra processed foods (UPF) get a bad rap. I'm not saying to live on UPF exclusively. Context matters. Save the "clean" eating and low cal foods for meals. Throw some simple carbs into your pre-workout nutrition plan and reap the benefits of training with some fuel in you. You don't have to go the sugary candy route. Toast with honey or jam works just as well. White bread, because it digests faster. And for training fuel, that's the point. A better training session creates better results over time. You'll likely have a better session being fed and fueled versus fasted and drained. Go eat, go lift, go get your goals. If you have questions, I'm all ears

What are you doing outside the gym? Yesterday and today, the family and I explored the newly renovated Sycamore Park. Absolutely beautiful playground, modern pavilion (with top tier bathrooms!), disc golf course, walking trail, and pickle ball courts. One day I'll try that game 🤔 In the meantime, back to fossil hunting! There's a sign saying that the river bed is a good spot 👀
