Welcome to Alex Guitar Studio
Hey, Glad you're here. I built this place for people who actually want to play guitar β€” not just watch lessons about it. Where to start: β†’ Classroom β†’ First Steps β†’ Introduction. Work through it. No rush, no shortcuts. β†’ Then Lesson 1: E-Ride β€” your first real song. β†’ Say hi in Introductions β€” tell us where you're playing from and what made you want to learn. A few practical notes: You can comment on any post from day one. Posting your own threads opens up after a bit of engagement β€” keeps things tidy. Skool's default email notifications are a lot, so adjust them under your profile menu (top right) β†’ Settings β†’ Notifications. The free course gets you playing your first song. If you want the full path β€” all 12 lessons, weekly new songs, monthly live Q&A β€” that's the Premium tier. Questions? Comments work for now. Once you can post, head to the Questions category. See you inside. β€” Alex

First Win post to get this category going
I was 8 when I got my hands on my cousin's beat-up guitar and a beginner's classical book. No teacher, no YouTube β€” I just worked through the book on my own. After my parents saw I actually stuck with it, they signed me up for private lessons. The first six months were rough, honestly. Lots of fumbling. But then something clicked: I realized the music I actually liked wasn't as hard to play as I'd thought. I learned a few songs I cared about, and from there things moved fast. That's the kind of moment this category is for β€” when something finally clicks. Doesn't matter how small. First chord that didn't buzz. First time you switched between two chords without stopping. First song you played start to finish. Post a video, a voice memo, or just write it. We celebrate everything here.
A question for everyone joining:
What's the one thing about learning guitar that's frustrated you the most so far? Could be physical (fingers hurt, can't switch chords), could be mental (don't know where to start, lost motivation), could be practical (no time, no idea what to practice). No wrong answer. I read every reply and the patterns I see here will shape what I teach next.

Quick intro since I'm starting this off.
I'm Alex. Berlin-based, been playing guitar for around 40 years, teaching for over 25. Trained at LAMA in Pasadena, now mostly teach beginners β€” privately and here. Started this community because most online guitar courses are built for people who already kind of know what they're doing. This one isn't. It's for the absolute beginner who wants to actually play songs, not just watch tutorials. If you're new here: tell me your first name, where you're roughly based, and one song you'd love to be able to play. That's it
