32 companies that hire AI filmmakers (new list, just published)
Just added something new to the Jobs & Gigs page on AIFD: a "Who's Hiring AI Filmmakers" list — 32 studios, agencies, brands, and platforms that hire or fund AI-fluent film talent, every one verified this month. It covers AI-native studios (Promise, Asteria, Secret Level, Wonder Studios...), agencies building AI teams, funding programs like TCL Film Machine ($25K+ grants), and the model companies hiring creatives directly — Runway, Luma, Pika. Watch the video for how to actually use it: weekly listings move fast, but this list is your standing target map — who to research, follow, and pitch even when nothing's posted. aifilmmakersdirectory.com/pages/jobs-gigs

Big news: AIFD is now bringing the work to you.
Up to now, the directory has been about getting you found. Today that changes. We just launched Scout — a service where studios, agencies, and brands tell us what they're making, and we hand them a vetted shortlist of AI filmmakers matched to the job. In plain terms: real companies with real budgets are coming to AIFD to hire — and we're the ones deciding who gets put in front of them. Two things I want to be straight with you about up front: You're always first. When a brief comes in, I look at the directory before anywhere else — and members get first shot, every time. If there's ever a gap I can't fill from our community, I'll source outside it and then bring that person onto the directory — so the network only gets stronger, and being a member always puts you ahead of the line, never behind it. I don't take a cut of your work. Scout is paid for by the employers, for the curation and vetting I do. When I connect you, you deal with the client directly, you set your rate, and you keep 100% of it. I'm not a middleman skimming your fee — I'm the person getting you in the room. What this means for you This is a new pipeline of paid work flowing straight through AIFD. The honest part: I can only recommend people whose profiles show they can deliver. When a studio hands me a brief, I pull from filmmakers whose niche is clear, whose reel is strong, and whose work I can vouch for. The sharper your profile, the more likely you land on that shortlist. So depending on where you're at: - Not on the directory yet? You can't be matched to work you're invisible to. Get listed — that's step one. - On a free or half-finished profile? Complete it and level up. Pro unlocks the features that make you shortlist-ready — richer profile, more samples, the niche content that wins contracts. - Already Pro? Make sure your niche, reel, and best samples are dialed in. You're in the pool — help me put you forward with confidence. This isn't pay-to-play. It's quality-to-play. The bar is simply whether your profile proves you can do the work — and that's the same thing that gets you hired anyway.
Big news: AIFD is now bringing the work to you.

The way clients find you is changing — fast
Quick one worth your attention. OpenAI just confirmed it's testing ads inside ChatGPT, and marketer Neil Patel is calling it the next big advertising era — the ChatGPT version of what Google Ads did in 2002. But the ads aren't the real headline for us. They're proof of something bigger that's already happening. People have stopped clicking. In early 2026, about 68% of Google searches ended without a single click — folks just read the AI answer and move on. On AI tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity, that number climbs past 90%. ChatGPT is now handling roughly 17% of all searches worldwide. Think about what that means for getting hired. The old way — the Upwork way — was to be one fish in a giant pond, hoping a client scrolls far enough down the list to find you, then undercutting everyone on price. But AI doesn't scroll a list. When someone asks, "Who can make an AI video for my brand?", the assistant gives a recommendation — a name. There's no page two to climb. So the game isn't "how do I rank?" anymore. It's "does the AI know who I am, and can it confidently put my name forward?" That's the whole reason the AI Filmmakers Directory exists — a clean, structured profile designed so you get discovered and recommended when someone goes looking for a creator like you. Not buried in a feed. Put forward. Two things to do this week: 1. Create your AIFD profile if you haven't yet — get discoverable while discovery is still being decided. 2. Work through the free modules in Classrooms — they sharpen the exact skills clients are paying for right now. Being early still counts for something. Let's make sure the AI knows your name. 🎬
