Remember the Claude Code + Higgsfield class I recorded with Sean? It ran 1 hour 47 minutes. Raw. Lots of good stuff in there... and lots of us fumbling with logins, screen-share glitches, and me hunting for a tab I'd closed.
Normally that's an afternoon of scrubbing through a timeline. Instead I told Claude Code, in plain English... from my phone. I wasn't even at my desk. I gave every instruction remotely, and Claude Code did all the work on my desktop computer (transcribing, scanning the video, building the edit). Here's what I told it:
- transcribe it and make a rough cut in Cutroom (the editor Claude built for me, live, in that same class)
- cut the dead spaces, but leave 15 frames of handle on each side of every cut, don't cut tight on the words
- don't cut silent moments where we're navigating on screen, people need to SEE how it's done
- look at the big picture and cut the stuff we wasted time on that turned out to be easy in hindsight (permissions, login loops, etc.)
It transcribed the whole thing, scanned the video frame by frame to see when the screen was actually moving, read the full conversation, and came back with this report. Here it is, just reformatted for Skool:
---
The rough cut is ready in Cutroom: "Claude Code + Higgsfield Class w/ Sean (Rough Cut)". It runs 75.7 minutes, down from 107, in 57 clips. I haven't watched it back or exported it.
What got cut:
- The 12 detours, about 30 minutes in total:
00:00-13:02 Pre-show chat, slow Higgsfield login, closing tabs and apps. Opens on "Hi everybody, we are today with Sean Rubin"
15:24-16:38 The "I don't have DaVinci" / CapCut detour before setup
17:19-25:14 Failed auth attempts: /mcp, searching Connectors in the desktop app, Apollo picked by mistake
26:05-28:36 Link-pasting back and forth before the fix
49:54-50:13 Voice-input test that didn't come through
50:17-50:25 "I was distracted, tell me again"
58:45-59:43 Screen-share glitch; video not visible, re-sharing
1:00:12-1:00:36 Stopping and restarting the screen share
1:20:31-1:21:18 Military-time "17" tangent
1:22:55-1:23:20 Hunting GoHighLevel settings for the API
1:28:09-1:28:54 Clip audio not audible ("Hi... Hello")
1:41:19-1:42:37 Hunting for the closed VR-app tab
- About 1.5 minutes of true dead air. I only cut stretches that were silent for over 2 seconds and had nothing moving on screen.
Your concern about silent navigation was right. There are about 10 minutes of silences over 2 seconds, but most of them have real screen work in them: switching between the terminal and the browser, clicking through Higgsfield, waiting on a page to load. Those all stayed in. The scan ignores Sean's webcam, the floating Meet window, the blinking text cursor and Claude Code's spinner, so those don't count as activity. Mouse movement and window changes do.
Handles: every cut leaves 15 frames on each side of the edit point. In a few of the detour cuts, that means a fragment of the removed sentence sits in the handle, like the tail of "...get started with Higgs field" at the 16:38 cut. That's the slack you asked for, for you to trim.
What I kept on purpose:
- The working Higgsfield connection. The step "log into Higgsfield in the browser and click Approve" is at 25:14 and again at 38:03.
- Sean's CapCut explanation of API/connector vs. no API, including that DaVinci's API needs the paid version. That's real teaching.
- The moment you asked Claude to build your own editor (~34:00). That's Cutroom being born.
Two things to check:
- Clip audio: in the recording, Sean couldn't hear the president and UGC clips the first time you played them, so you may want to drop in the clean files from Higgsfield there.
- The Cutroom story: around 34:00 you watch Cutroom get built live. Might be worth a title card or a mention in the course description.
If you want any detour back, tell me which and I'll rebuild. Same if you want the dead-air pass more aggressive or gentler.
---
That's an editor's assistant's whole first pass, done on my desktop while I steered it from my phone. I still do the real edit, but I start from 75 clean minutes instead of 107 messy ones.
The full class is coming to the Classroom soon.
