3D Cover images
Somehow I forgot to say 3dbookmock.pro (no AI) is live and free for now to create 3d Mockups. You just upload your cover, spine and back graphics and can create whatever view you want
*****
It was asked on another channel if anyone had tried this site for 3d Mockups https://trythreed.com/m/novellas
These are a breeze and no reason to pay any service. I sent this answer there so I'm sharing it here to.. and of course... something new to add to WCP's image tools
so I just tried this in chatgpt with this:
i need a prompt to put a cover image on a 3d mockup of a book or a series box of an [x] number of books. it needs to create a spine with the title and authors name from the cover image. the book size is a standard 6x9 paperback book with a 1/2" thick spine. the view should b 3/4 view showing the spine at the left of the cover image. can you give me the prompt and create the image?
It gave me the second image below. ( I should have said on a white background)
So i asked: "can i have the prompt that created this?"
Absolutely. Here is the prompt that created the mockup, cleaned up slightly so it’s easier to reuse:
Create a cinematic, high-end photorealistic 3D paperback book mockup using the uploaded cover image as the exact front-cover artwork.
The physical book is a standard 6 × 9 inch trade paperback with an approximately 0.5-inch spine.
Show the book standing upright in a three-quarter view, with the spine clearly visible on the LEFT side of the front cover. The front cover should remain the dominant visible surface.
Preserve the uploaded cover artwork faithfully:
  • Deep red and black leather-like texture
  • Ornate antique gold corner filigree
  • Crimson occult/ritual compass design
  • Large silver-white title typography
  • Red ampersand and decorative flourishes
  • Gold subtitle
  • Framed author-name panel
Do not redesign or substantially alter the original cover.
Create a matching professionally designed spine based on the cover artwork.
The spine should have:
  • Matching worn black and deep-red leather texture
  • Subtle antique gold ornamentation
  • The title “BLOOD & SHADOWS”
  • The subtitle “THE LEGACY”
  • The author name “MICHAEL CULP”
  • Typography and decorative styling that visually match the front cover
  • A small tasteful occult compass/sigil ornament near the bottom
Orient the spine typography conventionally for a U.S. paperback and keep all lettering crisp, readable, correctly spelled, and professionally typeset.
Show realistic cream-colored page edges along the top and side of the book. Give the paperback subtle rounded edges and believable physical thickness.
Environment
Place the book on a dark, aged wooden tabletop partially covered with old map-like parchment.
Surround it with subtle atmospheric props:
  • Antique leather-bound books in the blurred background
  • A brass compass or astrolabe near the foreground
  • A softly glowing candle to one side
  • Hints of antique scholarly or occult-library objects
The props should support the mood without distracting from the book.
Lighting
Use warm cinematic studio lighting with:
  • Soft golden candlelight
  • Warm highlights along the book edges
  • Deep atmospheric shadows
  • Subtle rim lighting
  • Realistic contact shadow beneath the book
  • Shallow depth of field
  • Soft background bokeh
Camera
Premium commercial product-photography composition.
  • Three-quarter camera angle
  • Approximately 25–35 degrees from straight-on
  • Slightly elevated eye-level viewpoint
  • 70–85mm product-photography lens appearance
  • Sharp focus on the front cover and spine
  • Background softly blurred
Overall mood
Dark gothic fantasy, occult mystery, antique luxury, cinematic supernatural thriller.
The final image should resemble a professionally photographed physical book used for:
  • Amazon advertising
  • Author websites
  • Book launch graphics
  • Social-media promotion
  • Publisher marketing
Critical requirements:
Preserve the recognizable original front cover.
Keep the spine on the left.
Maintain realistic 6 × 9 × 0.5-inch proportions.
Do not distort the typography.
Do not invent extra book titles, publisher names, or promotional text.
For a reusable version, replace:
“BLOOD & SHADOWS” → [BOOK TITLE]
“THE LEGACY” → [SUBTITLE / SERIES NAME]
“MICHAEL CULP” → [AUTHOR NAME]
And for multiple books, change the opening line to:
Create a cinematic, high-end photorealistic 3D box-set mockup containing exactly [X] separate 6 × 9 paperback books, each approximately 0.5 inches thick, using the supplied cover images as the exact front artwork for each volume.
