Need Help: Setting up WhatsApp Business for AI Agent
Hi everyone,
I’m working on a project where I want to connect my n8n AI Agent with a client’s WhatsApp Business account. The goal is simple: whenever someone messages the client on WhatsApp, my AI Agent should automatically respond.
I’m currently stuck at the Meta App Dashboard setup. When I try to add client's phone number, I get this error (as shown in picture)
  • Do I need to completely remove the number from the WhatsApp Business mobile app before using it with the API? Because that is not practically possible for the business. There are data store on the WhatsApp Account.
  • Is there a way to migrate an existing WhatsApp Business number into the Cloud API setup without losing chats?
  • Any step-by-step checklist you recommend for smooth setup with n8n?
Would appreciate any guidance, especially from those who have successfully connected WhatsApp Cloud API with n8n for automation. 🙏
