Has anyone else been affected by the Claude Fable 5 ban?
Our entire AI automation project on Sambid.co was built on it. Disrupted overnight. No warning. No refund timeline. Two paid subscriptions down the drain. But honestly the ban itself is not what's bothering me most. Here's what nobody in mainstream tech media is connecting: A few months ago, the US Pentagon approached both OpenAI and Anthropic. The ask? Unrestricted AI access — including permission to use the models for mass surveillance of American citizens and fully autonomous weapons. OpenAI said yes. Anthropic said no. Dario Amodei literally wrote: "We cannot in good conscience accede to their request." Anthropic lost a $200 million government contract. Got blacklisted. Called a "supply chain risk." Fast forward to June 12. Fable 5 — Anthropic's most powerful public model — gets banned globally. Reason given? A verbal claim from an unnamed company. No hack. No breach. No written proof. Not even a technical demonstration. Meanwhile ChatGPT — jailbroken dozens of times with documented cases — is running fine in 200+ countries. So I'm asking the community genuinely: Is this really about a jailbreak? Or is this what happens when an AI company refuses to build surveillance tools for the government? Because if companies that protect user privacy get punished like this — that's a problem for all of us building with AI. Would love to hear thoughts from other founders and builders here. Especially those who were also building on Fable 5.
