Build a Machine That Finds Business Ideas For You
Ever feel like you’re sitting on a goldmine with n8n but can’t decide what to build? I get it. The possibilities are endless, and that can feel overwhelming.
Here's how to build a simple system to do the hard work for you. It’s a little "idea machine" that constantly finds and checks new business ideas...
Here’s how it works:
1. Build your inspiration feed
First, you need a steady stream of what's new and what's working in the AI world. The easiest way is to subscribe to a few high-quality AI newsletters. They deliver fresh tools and trends directly to your inbox.
I’d recommend starting with these two:
- The Rundown: Great for quick, daily updates on new AI tools and projects.
- Superhuman: Another daily newsletter with a huge following, focused on AI news and tools you can try right away.
Prompt: I'm subscribed to The Rundown and Superhuman AI newsletters. Create a plan for me to analyze the new tools they feature each week and identify three potential business opportunities I could build with n8n. Focus on services I could sell to small businesses.
2. Create a bot that finds real problems
New tools are exciting, but businesses pay for solutions to their problems. Instead of just chasing shiny objects, you can use n8n to find real-world problems people are already talking about.
Set up an n8n workflow that scans places like Reddit or other online forums where your ideal customers hang out. Look for posts where people are complaining about a task, asking for a specific tool, or trying to figure out how to do something.
For example, your workflow could monitor subreddits like r/smallbusiness for phrases like "how do I," "I hate doing," or "is there a tool for." Then, it can use AI to summarize the most interesting posts and email them to you.
Prompt: Design a step-by-step n8n workflow that monitors specific subreddits (like r/smallbusiness and r/entrepreneur) for keywords related to problems I can solve with automation. The workflow should use AI to summarize the top 5 most promising posts each week and send them to my email.
This setup is like having a personal research assistant working for you 24/7. It finds the inspiration, then shows you where the demand is.
