I built this n8n workflow from a deep research synthesis of cover-letter best practices and AI-text detection techniques. It automates:
- PDF ingestion – reads submitted cover letters
- Anonymization – strips personal data for GDPR compliance
- AI analysis – sends text to an OpenAI model with a system prompt that scores seven key criteria (structure, formatting, tailoring, evidence, tone, mechanics, overall impression). The AI focuses solely on these defined criteria that remains pertinent even if the letter itself was generated by AI.
- Report export – parses the JSON response and saves the final evaluation to Google Drive
By chaining n8n’s Read PDF, Function, HTTP Request, and Code nodes, it delivers a transparent, replicable template for AI-driven candidate screening and HR process automation.
