A few claude code skills I’ve been using lately
hi guys, I’ve been using Matt Pocock’s “Skills for Real Engineers” inside claude code lately and a few of them have actually helped me quite a bit, so I wanted to share them here.
/grill-with-docs makes the agent ask questions before touching the code, then saves the context into docs and It has saved me from a lot of situations where the agent started building something different from what I had in my mind.
/tdd makes the whole workflow feel much more disciplined. it write the test first, build the code, then clean it up through refactoring.
/improve-codebase-architecture is useful when a repo starts getting messy. It reviews the structure and points out what should be separated or cleaned up.
I wouldn’t say they’re magic tools that build everything for you. They just help bring better engineering habits into your workflow : )
If you haven’t tried them yet, they’re worth checking out.
