Anthropic has launched Claude Opus 5.5, its new flagship model. Here is what matters: 1. Faster and cheaper. It runs more than 30% faster than Opus 5, and the API price has been reduced. 2. Built for long, difficult work. One tester migrated 680,000 lines of code in less than a day and had 200,000 lines checked and fixed in 3 hours. 3. Use it where mistakes are costly. It isn't for small daily tasks. Use it for complex, high-stakes work, such as building a full app, analyzing a large number of files, or running long sessions on one project. The full breakdown is in the guide, including a table showing when to use Opus 5.5 and when a lighter model is enough: https://app.notion.com/p/3ec01afec59781bd8f5af8f0df106f63 Anthropic also released another model just days later, which is probably more useful for everyday users. I'll cover it in the next reel. Which kind of work will you try Opus 5.5 on first? Share it in the comments.
