You don't have to post....
Thank you all for joining and please invite others to the community. I want to make sure you understand that there is no pressure to post. You are free to sit back and be an observer and learner within this community. This message and everything we do goes beyond the role of the Health and Wellness Director. In this space, participation does not require performance, productivity, or emotional labor. Everyday we're expected to be "on" no matter the circumstances. This is your safe space.

Welcome. I'm glad you’re here.
This space exists to create understanding around the Wellness Director role — and the relationships, responsibilities, and realities that come with it. If you’re a Wellness Director, this is a place where your experience doesn’t need to be explained or defended. If you work alongside a Wellness Director — as an Executive Director, caregiver, leader, vendor, or partner — this is a place to better understand what the role actually carries in real life. A few important things to know as you get started: - You do not have to post to belong here. Observing, listening, and reflecting are welcome. - This is not a space for venting or blame. We focus on context, systems, and understanding — not individuals. - Every community is different. What works in one building or state may not work in another. We share experience, not prescriptions. - Conversations here are about partnership — with residents, families, staff, leadership, and vendors — in service of safe, compliant care. You’ll see weekly reflection prompts, thoughtful discussions, and shared perspectives. Participate as much or as little as feels right for you. If you’d like a simple place to begin, consider this question (no need to answer publicly unless you want to): What part of the Wellness Director role do you wish others understood better? Thank you for being here and helping create a space rooted in respect, curiosity, and care.

Free Leadership Tool: The STAR Response Framework
One of the most valuable lessons I've learned as a healthcare leader is that effective leadership requires more than receiving information—it requires investigation, critical thinking, and follow-through. I teach leaders to use the STAR Framework: ⭐ Situation What happened? ⭐ Task What responsibility or problem must be addressed? ⭐ Action What actions were taken or should be taken? ⭐ Result What was the outcome and what was learned? This framework can be used for: • Falls • Incident investigations • Staff coaching • Family concerns • Compliance issues • Performance discussions • Daily leadership rounds Question: What situations in your organization would benefit from a more structured approach to investigation and follow-up?

📌 Welcome to Aging With Community & Grace
Hello everyone, and welcome to Aging With Community & Grace (AWCG)! My name is Lorraine Wyatt, and I have spent more than two decades working in healthcare, with a passion for improving the aging experience through leadership, education, accountability, and innovation. Throughout my career, I've learned that many of the challenges we face in healthcare are not caused by a lack of caring people. They are caused by unclear processes, inconsistent communication, and systems that do not support the teams expected to use them. That is why I created AWCG. This community is dedicated to helping healthcare professionals build smarter systems, stronger teams, and better outcomes for residents, families, and organizations. Whether you are a nurse, caregiver, Wellness Director, Executive Director, department leader, consultant, or healthcare entrepreneur, you are welcome here. Introduce Yourself! Please tell us: ✅ Your role ✅ What type of healthcare setting you work in ✅ Where you're located ✅ Your biggest challenge right now ✅ One thing you hope to learn or contribute I look forward to learning from each of you and building a community where we can grow, share ideas, solve problems, and support one another. Aging With Community & Grace Smarter Systems. Stronger Teams.
