Hi Thomas Carroll here again. This video is going to be about how I turned from the occult and ayahuasca to Jesus. I’m gunna try to make this as brief as I can because there’s a lot to it. I was born into the Mormon Church; born in California but raised in Utah. In happy valley Utah almost everyone was Mormon there, and so I had an idea of Jesus, but the Mormons don’t really talk about Jesus too much, it’s mostly about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. They’ll mention Jesus but they don’t really get into it too much. I was raised there in Utah as a Mormon. I always knew that there was something wrong with the Mormon Church, and so when I was around 20 years old is when I said okay I’ve had enough of it. I had been studying the occult and the paranormal since, well I started when I was a teenager and I continued doing so. I had started traveling a little bit and I went to Alaska to work there in the fishing industry. I fought some wildfires as well during the summer. With the money raised I came here to Peru and I’ve been here ever since. I first came here to Peru in 1999 and I fell in love with the country. I made several trips back here to Peru, now I live here. But on one of the trips here to Peru I wanted to drink the hallucinogenic cactus called San Pedro, and I did. I drank this in Cuzco back in 2000. I did it a couple of times with a group of witches and some of them called themselves “devils that do good.” It was a very, very dark experience, it was fascinating at the same time. I did it a couple of times with them and then I did San Pedro on my own several times. I was absolutely fascinated by it, but it’s very dark stuff. I can get more into that in other videos. I got married her to my wife Veronica. We have two children; our son Tristan and our daughter Gabriela. I’ve been living here ever since. I still studied the occult, the paranormal, and I was fascinated with shamanism here in Peru. I would go and visit shaman. One of the things I wanted to do was to really get into something that is called ayahuasca. It’s a hallucinogenic brew. It’s similar to San Pedro but there are differences. I was reading up on this about how ayahuasca cures diseases, it cures addictions and it helps you with psychological problems and emotional issues. It seemed to be a really good deal. So I wanted to go and do this, and see the other side like I did with San Pedro. I was smoking a lot back then. I was smoking easily one or two packs a day. And I was drinking like a sailor as well, and when I was drinking I would drink about 3 or 4 packs a day. And so I wanted to drink ayahuasca in part to see if it would get rid of my smoking addiction. I went to Iquitos to drink ayahuasca in 2006. I did a couple of sessions there in the jungles of Iquitos. It was different from San Pedro. It was very profound. I quit smoking on the spot. The very first time I took ayahuasca I quit smoking on the spot. But six weeks later I started up again. There were some problems going on and I forced myself to smoke, so I started smoking. And then it got worse than ever. So I wanted to do ayahuasca again. And I did so back in 2009. There isn’t so much of the touristy thing up in Pucallpa for ayahuasca as it is in Iquitos. I found a master ayahuasquero (an ayahuasquero is a shaman who is an expert in ayahuasca) and I did ayahuasca several times. The very first night I did ayahuasca there I quit smoking, and I haven’t looked back. I haven’t smoked at all since then. So it’s been eight years now that I haven’t smoked at all after that first session with ayahuasca in Pucallpa. I was absolutely thrilled with this and other things too, besides quitting smoking. I felt better physically in other ways, I felt better psychologically; at least for a time. I was so into this that I decided I wanted to dedicate my life to ayahuasca. I figured I could help other people who have addictions, or diseases, and bring them here to Peru to try ayahuasca but for a more affordable price than what they do over in Iquitos most of it is just a total rip-off over in Iquitos. So I had the whole thing planned out. And it’s easy to get people to want to take ayahuasca. So what I did was I had made out a whole plan for the business to bring people here to do ayahuasca near Lima (it’s a lot more affordable than going up to Iquitos and spending thousands of dollars for it) with better ayahuasqueros. I thought it would be a good thing to do; to help people and to make money doing it at the same time. I was in my room going over my plans for this in January 2012 when I don’t know exactly how to describe it but out of nothing, nowhere, came a slap. It wasn’t a physical slap, but it felt like one. And at that moment I had a vision or something. I could see Jesus Christ on one side and I could see the ayahuasca spirits on the other side. I wasn’t sure what was going on, it all happened very quickly. I thought before that a lot of these spirits that come to you through ayahuasca are from plants. The plants actually have spirits, they’re benevolent plant spirits. And there are some evil spirits that try to get to you when you drink ayahuasca, but the ayahuasquero protects you and these “wonderful” plant spirits do too. But in this moment, this vision here, Jesus on one side, and these spirits, these ayahuasca spirits on the other side. I saw them without their masks on. Jesus had unmasked them I saw them as they really were – demons. All of them. No such thing as these “plant spirits.” Plants don’t have spirits. These were all demons coming at me. Some of them pretended to be good spirits; to help me out. When it was really an elaborate plan to catch my soul, and in the process have me help these demons catch other souls. I’ll explain more of that in other videos. Well right there, on the spot, I knew I had to make a decision: am I going to go for Jesus, or am I going to go for these demons. Now that I’ve seen their true colors, where am I going to go? And I said out loud “I believe in Jesus. I want to follow Jesus.” I said it out loud just in case there were any spirits there, or whatever, so they could hear me. And that’s when things really started to change. I didn’t know what I was saying. I did not know that Jesus is God in the flesh. Being raised Mormon, they don’t believe that, but that Jesus is the son of God, not God. I didn’t know what real Christianity is all about. I had absolutely no clue. So I didn’t know what to do here. But I felt a spirit, a presence. And it told me what – it spoke to me. It said “Read the Bible.” And I thought “Okay, I’ll read the Bible. I like to read.” And I looked around my house to get a Bible and I couldn’t find a Bible. I couldn’t believe that I didn’t have a Bible. I used to have one when I was Mormon. I would carry it around with me in church along with the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, but we almost never referred to the Bible in the Mormon Church. So eventually I just lost my Bible somewhere. So I didn’t have a Bible so I look up online about buying a Bible and there were hundreds of different versions in the English, which is a whole other story there. But I ordered a Bible. I asked the Holy Spirit, I was like “okay. This is the Holy Spirit, right? What Bible should I go for? Because there are so many different versions.” He told me to go with the original 1611 King James Version. Start there. The King James Version is the word of God. So I ordered one. But I still wanted to get a Bible here in Lima, Peru Spanish or English as soon as possible while the 1611 KJV is in the mail. Now I had a plan to go to the beach, to a beach trip in Northern Peru to Punta Sal and Mancora with the family. So we left; this was right after the whole slap in the face thing. We went up North on this trip and I kept thinking “I need a Bible, I need to get a Bible, I need to get to a bookstore and look for a Bible. And at one of the hotel rooms we were staying at there was a New Testament Bible in Spanish from the Gideons, it was right there labeled free. That was cool. So I started reading the Revelation in the Spanish Bible. And I didn’t understand anything that I was reading. I understood it in Spanish I just didn’t get what was going on in Revelation. But I kept reading it. And bit by bit I started getting more and more about the Bible and understanding a bit more. Eventually I was like “Okay, now what do I need to do?” And I got a prompting: “You need to pray.” And that was extremely hard for me to do; praying. I had all kinds of feeling not to do so, like spiritual attacks, I felt embarrassed. I felt ashamed. I felt like I’m not worthy to, how dare I pray to a holy God? But I kept getting a gentle feeling, a prompting: pray, pray, pray. And I did. I started praying and that was another step. I took a 180% turn from ayahuasca and the occult to Jesus and I haven’t looked back since. It’s been very difficult at times. Sin started falling away from me immediately. What I previously had not considered to be sin, suddenly I realized was sin and I could see it as it really is, very ugly. Sin looks like death. Some of the sin came out of me right away, others sins took a while. I still sin at times, it’s just not as often as before, but I don’t want to sin anymore. I changed. I became someone who – just totally different from where I was before. Smoking, drinking, swearing like a sailor, all this stuff, you know, into the occult to I wasn’t smoking anymore, I don’t swear anymore. All kinds of things I just started getting rid of and I’m reading the Bible all the time and I’m talking about Jesus all the time. When before I did not have many good things to say about God. Then all of the sudden being a Jesus freak and people noticed the change in me. I’ve been studying a lot, in the Bible, and I’ve realized how much of a deception this occult and New Age stuff is, and ayahuasca is a lie, it’s a demonic deception. So there are a lot more videos coming about this. One thing is that I was thinking about how Jesus wasn’t there for me and then suddenly appeared. But as I viewed my life later as a Born Again Christian, reviewing my life, I realized that Jesus was always there for me I just was not paying attention. So, Jesus is real and He is very active. But He’s subtle. Most of the time. So pay attention. Pay attention to Jesus. Turn to Jesus. Ask Him if He is there, and pay attention. You’ll get an answer. If you do it sincerely and humbly you’ll get an answer. So there’s lots more videos about this and other things coming soon.
