As this group grows, I want you to know...
I'm a 45-year-old man with ADHD that has acquired special skills over time because of my ADHD. And I believe this is the same for any men that will be joining this group! Personally, I have been working in mental health as a counselor for the last 7 years, specializing but not limited to addiction. My areas of interest as a counselor are addiction, ADHD, autism, anxiety, and all other symptoms related to these conditions. However, I recognize that I don't know at all and that's where I would like men in this group to step up and help, for example, if you enjoy social media and like chatting in groups, perhaps helping run this one would be for you! Or if you're a graphic designer or love to write that could be helpful to building this community as well. And what I'm really curious about is what kind of other special interests people have and how they can bring that to the community to help build a beautiful culture of ADHD'ers 😁 In the end, I think this could be a lot of fun and I think we can really work towards something Beyond ADHD, tapping into ADHD as a superpower, not as a deficit. Now of course I will be offering my services to anyone who requires support in managing their ADHD or other co-occurring disorders, a lot of this will be free, some of it won't. Over time once I have established any solid number of men, somewhere around 10 to 20, they will be deemed the founding members, and they will be free for life and potentially be able to start monetizing with me. After that, this group will become a subscription-based group that will be offering value to subscribers and it is my hopes and it will thrive and the founding members will help keep it thriving 🙏

Classroom?
I have a lot I can add to the classroom, however I'm curious what kind of things you might want to see in there? How do you learn? Us guys with ADHD don't usually learn the same way as your average Skool communities... Like I'm not really a big fan of reading a ton of stuff nowadays, I would much rather learn through something interactive or videos, I don't mind doing short worksheets and that kind of stuff but I like things that are more interactive. What are your thoughts? What kind of learner are you?

I Hate It When I Can't...
What do you struggle with that "normal" people seem to have bo problem with? For myself, I am terrible at certain chores, especially cleaning the kitchen or organizing laundry! Ive spent year feeling shame around this, expecting myself to be able to do things like what are called neurotypical (normal) people... Now, for us neurodivergent's (ADHD, Autism) we need to learn about how we operate so we can get things done and it took me far to long to figure out things like task paralysis, functional freeze, sensory overload, emotional dysregulation, and a few more so I could tap into the strengths that ADHD brings. Thats why I have started this community so I can connect to others like me, so I can share what I have learned and I can learn from you. Then I want to see where we can go from there because I know we can accomplish great things together 💯 What are your thoughts? What can you bring to this group?

How Do You Stim?
Personally I have masked for so many years the idea of stimming is something fairly new to me... Since I mask so well I have a hidden stim where I cross one toe over another constantly! I did it so much one day that it affected my leg and I was limping for a week!

If You Woke Up Tomorrow...
If you woke up tomorrow and all your dreams had come true, you're doing what you love, you have no need for money, and you're genuinely happy and loving life, what would you be doing? For me I want to be done with the the 9:00 to 5:00 job. I am done working for someone else! I want to make my own choices and I want to support other men like me with ADHD, teaching them what I've learned over the years! As of right now, I am ready to make this dream happen! I have the skills and the knowledge. I just need a group of men to work with that can help me build this community because men over 40 with ADHD have a lot to offer and I'm looking forward to it. If you're reading this you have a lot to offer to this community lets build it together! It's about time you find success that you know you are capable of 😉
