Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is a tabletop role-playing game where players create characters and go on imaginary adventures together. One person acts as the Dungeon Master (DM), who describes the world, story, and challenges. The other players control heroes in the story, deciding what they say and do while exploring, solving problems, and facing dangers.
The game mixes storytelling with rules and dice rolls. Each character has abilities and skills that show what they are good at, like fighting, sneaking, or using magic. When a character tries something difficult or risky, the player rolls dice to see if they succeed. The DM uses these results along with the rules to decide what happens next.
D&D is a team storytelling experience rather than a game you “win.” Players work together to complete quests and shape the story through their choices. Every adventure is different, allowing for action, humor, drama, and creative problem solving.
