I've had fishtanks my whole life minus a few year here and there... but most of the time ive had at least one .. now I have about 13 fish tanks and there all in my living room. I've got lots of different plants in my fish tanks . Now these are not aquatic plants there everyday normal house plants .. one in particular is called and African milk bush. Let's talk about this plant. This is crazy but I was working in a town called tahlequah ok.. and the Indian capital votec.. and inside there giant green house stand a huge I mean its massive its a African milk plant. See this one im talking about is prob 5 people can hold hand in a circle that might give you the size this was over 20 years ago so I imagine its even bigger .. when I got a piece it was off the big one amd there easy to start.. you just snip em at a notch or snap it like a pea 🫛. Well the only problem is that it has this very toxic white milky stuff that drips out like its bleeding. Your supposed to damp that milk stuff in a paper towl. Do not get that any where near your mouth as your mouth will blister worse then you have ever seen . I witnessed my ex , I thought the name of this plant was a coco plant .. like almost Cocain. My ex wanting to see if it would make her lips numb rubbed the milky stuff on her lips it was the funniest shit ive ever seen. It serves her right .. bet you she never did anything like thay again. Anyway I used to have gravel, goofy fake plants that would fall apart. And I always thought you needed to have gravel for the Boi filter stuff which you can put a foam air bubbler in your fish tank if your worried some fish do need the stuff but then again guppies dont . I have tanks with just the house plants and water and the tank thats it and I have no problems with any of my fish dieing. There is no air hose in the tank the only other thing I do have is a heater in every tank because the guppie likes it warm and if you keep the tank cooled , the guppie seems to shrink its weird..im going to show you the step by step process of what works for e and what doesn't. So seeing how quick the African milk plant roots gave me an idea , actually with the help of my good friend Jessica who brought one over .. gave me the idea .. now first I just did whst I said I cut a piece and put in the water and I made sure to wash off the poison first. Half submerged and half not like your putting a cutting in a glass of water . It rooted And it stayed lookin good so I thought lets see what happens when you totally submerge it. Really I had two pieces both rooting one had the leaves out the other I submerged the plant and waited and watched it lossed its leaves and almost died I pulled it out and it only had like 2 leaves and I planted it in dirt and it started making a comeback and it got tall a little thin but tall..and then I took the pot with the plant and submerged just the dirt amd half the trunk amd its doing great actually it loves it. This is just one of the plants ive tested .. next il exsplain what happen to a piece Lilly..
