3 contributions to Comedy Mechanics
Gathering your questions about comedy, clowning, and the business of show.
I would love for you to ask some specific questions here about clowning, comedy, booking, marketing your work, etc. I will answer them as best as I can, and possibly feature the question on a new series I am starting on my Instagram…

How long is too long to get through a single joke?

@Adam Gertsacov It was long but it had good information. So, the length of your response didn't matter. I appreciate the information. Thanks.
Some things are just funny, especially real life.
I just found out that the city of Nottingham was originally known as Snotingham after a real Anglican tribe called the Snots.

This community is here to discuss the nuts and bolts of clowning and comedy and help each other be funnier! Welcome to the party! Please introduce yourself in this post , and include your name, location, and a little bit about where you are performing and where you are in your comedy journey. (And don’t worry, if you are not a performer, or a complete newbie. We are here to help!) After you introduce yourself, go to the Classroom and do the easy peasy START HERE Classroom link (early users, it might not be there yet!)

Hi. I am a US Army Veteran, with some books published on Amazon and I am looking for tips toward putting comedy into my writing. I am a bit of a situational jokester and wouldn't mind honing that into a possible standup routine. For instance: When I was at the gym today I overheard someone reference the AC joint. I looked it up and yes our body has an AC joint. Isn't that cool. Is that funny😁. What do you think?
