>>Flipping from ZERO to $1,000 in the United States
>>Flipping from ZERO to $1,000 in the United States >**No Vehicle, No Money, Just a Phone** There are no excuses. >**Craigslist** Scored an air conditioner in a free pile on Craigslist and sold it within a couple days. Found the free pile online, walked to the bus stop, walked to the free pile, grabbed the air conditioner without testing it, carried it, walked back to the bus stop, got back on the bus with the air conditioner, walked when I got off of the bus back to the homeless shelter. I posted it on OfferUp, Craigslist and FaceBook Marketplace for sale during the summer at $50.00 USD. >**Abandoned Junk** My first win in this campus was from a Marin bicycle I found abandoned in Downtown Portland. The chain was off, it was full of water, the tires were flat, and the brakes were unhooked. I ran the serial number through Project 529 and other bike registry platforms, it didn’t come back stolen, and so I registered it with a free certificate using a picture, the serial number and a description of the bike in Project 529. I fixed it up a bit and posted it for sale. I got an offer of $100 for the bike, but they wanted to pay with Venmo. So, I setup Venmo. >**Free From the Community** I found a gas-powered RC car for free. I had so many messages that I asked potential buyers if they would be willing to pay more than the $50 I had it posted for, and finally I found a guy who was willing to pay $200. I sold it to him as-is for cash, and I got the money wet, rubbed it real hard to make sure it wasn’t counterfeit. Some people were really angry that I wanted more than I originally posted it for. I’m okay with that. >**FaceBook Marketplace, Search “FREE”** My method of searching for free stuff to flip on FaceBook Marketplace is to search “free”, then sort the listings by listings that have been posted most recently. I found a Black & Decker corded electric lawn mower for free. I pushed it down the street and took it on the train with me. I sold it within a couple days for $40. In fact, I left that listing up and found another lawnmower exactly the same as the one I had just sold, and I did the whole thing over again, this time selling for $30.
