Between breathing and weight distribution for the top spot for me, though I'm interested in all of em

@Alexis de Bretagne I was thinking about base too. Would you consider it under weight distribution or as a distinct idea?
Focus for the week (cool down)
For all of my time training my goal was to stretch after class and cool down efficiently. But that’s boring and people want to hang out and share stories and try other moves after training and that’s way more fun. Then later when I got home I’d be stiff make dad noises when I moved. This week, if you aren’t already, take at least 5 min after hard training to gently stretch and move to cool down and help your body relax. Try not to get distracted. Tell people to give you a few minutes. If they leave and you don’t get to hear the story, catch the next one. Tune into your body and feel what needs attention. Maybe you just need to sit and breathe. But connect to your body and find stillness because training amps you up and we have to be able to turn it off and relax after.

I sometimes have back to back sessions, BJJ followed by Aikido. It is a much lower intensity plus also includes stretching at the start and end of the session, as well as breathwork. It often acts as a nice cool down, that said some of the sessions can also go quite hard with lots of throws and heavy landings Good reminder to take some time for proper cool down, will do so at tonight's class!

Assuming a perfect week without injury/sickness/travel/other: 3x BJJ gi 2x BJJ nogi 3x Aikido (inc breathwork practice) random amounts of stretching at home depending on what is most sore, typically lower back. (This is where my coach laughs at me and says welcome to the master's division 😁) I've been wanting to go to a gym for weight training, but I've made many false starts there and either hurt myself or quickly lose interest. I know that long term I should go back and try a bit harder with it, just that going to a Martial Art training sesh is more interesting and fulfilling to me. Not planning to become Arnie sized, but being able to lift a bit heavier than I can now would be nice

@James Driskill My goal weightlifting-wise used to be if I can reach my own bodyweight, now I'm also thinking about others. For example a few years ago I was caring for my grandma, it made me realise that I wasn't in the shape I'd like to be. A more positive example is when, God-willing, kids come into the picture in a couple years time 🙏
Lucid dream training
When I was competing a lot I spent a couple years learning to lucid dream predictably. There are techniques and practices for this. One of which is keeping a dream journal. I noticed that in a lot of my dreams I would see multiple moons in the night sky. My goal was to realize it’s a dream and start to control the dream so it become a training session. I wanted to get in more training than my opponents and I knew they were all training all day but not all night. I would notice the dream, look down and see my gi, look over and see my partner, and then start training. Unfortunately for me, every time I got control of the dream I would look and see my gi in my hand, drop the gi on the floor, and then take flight. My inner child controlled the dream most often and he just wanted to fly around. Rarely did I ever get any extra training in but it was still a fun experiment. Have you tried any strange or unique ways to get an edge in training?

Did you notice any difference in terms of energy levels or feeling rested after a night of lucid dreaming?

@James Driskill It's interesting. I've never tried it, but I've been curious about it since the movie Inception came out. Has it affected your ability to go to sleep normally? or is that only with heavy/frequent usage of the technique?
