Is it a red flag if a guy smokes a lot because his job stresses him out ? Also if you ask a guy what he's looking for in a spouse and he basically says he doesn't have any specifications except that he wants someone that will live on the same property as his mother and that he prefers his wife doesn't work. Is this something to be concerned about? Also when I asked him if he had any questions to ask me during our first conversation he said he didn't have a checklist and just wanted to have a conversation. When he said this I felt embarrassed that I had a checklist. Are these feelings valid?

Assalamu Alikum Hope every one is doing well Just wanted to share how I am feeling lately and to get some words of Advice. Feeling very down , am not where I need to be in terms of working on my self, not successful in terms of searching for a potential, at the same time struggling with finding employment . I am in my mid thirties now and I am very tired of waiting for things to change . The most thing that bothers me is seeing my parents feeling sad or worried for me . I really want to make them happy, I know I am being tested but I am very down .

Assalamu Alaikum sisters Where I live , we do something called a samosa run where the boys family together with the boy come to the girls family. The boy and the girl are allowed to have a conversation for around 30 minutes. Then the boy's mother would tell the girl's mother if he wants to marry her. Then the girl has to decide if she wants to marry him. So what I'm struggling with is how do I know whether this person is someone that I want to marry. How do I know someone's character from 1 conversation?
