I started ScamShield because I thought I was an “unscammable” Gen Zer — but I learned the hard way that no one is immune. I’ve also watched my grandfather fall for scams almost every time, which really opened my eyes to how serious this problem is. A little while ago, I got caught in an internet scam myself. I called what I thought was my provider’s number, but it was actually a fake one. I ended up giving them all the information they asked for, thinking it was legit. I didn’t realize something was wrong until a router I never ordered showed up in the mail. That’s when I called the real company, explained what happened, and was told I had most likely been the victim of a scam.
