So good
Your Secret desire.
No matter how I look back over my life art has in some way been there. It has been my backdrop without knowing how or why or even when it would happen. I just knew it was there. I used to live in a caravan park in my teens and Mum would be out on a Saturday morning usually and I would set myself up on the little kitchen table with my grey lead, rubber and sketchpad. I'd sketch away while watching the Saturday morning cartoons. They were the best times just in my my own world honing my skill without knowing why really? I just loved doing it. I wanted what ever I was drawing to look exactly the same in my sketch. Lightly shading away. Most of the time my composition was like a soup sandwich but it was those moments that un- be - known to me was my training. I watched a show on the ABC here in Australia a while back on a guy named Ahn Doh not how you spell it but something like that. He was talking about how he was doing a big clean up in his garage throwing out all that he didn't use or need anymore. He said when it came to throwing out all his art gear as as he hadn't painted in years, He just couldn't do it. He then realized this was his secret desire. All the other stuff in life just got in the way. I understood as I have been in exactly the same predicament. I collect so much art gear that I will never use but I would never throw it away. We go to Uni do courses for a proper career but what is your secret desire? If everything was taken care of what would you do? I know what I'd do. Create.... That's my real secret desire.....

๐ŸŽจ Welcome to H E F F ยท Creative! Introduce Yourself ๐Ÿ‘‹
Gโ€™day legends! Heff here โ€” truckie, tradie, and part-time artist finally getting the chance to create again after life and work got in the way for a while. This space is for anyone whoโ€™s ever felt that same pull to pick up the brush and have a crack at art again. I also run a YouTube channel โ€” Ben Heffernan Art โ€” where I share easy tutorials, time-lapses, and creative tips for beginners and returning artists. Drop a quick intro below ๐Ÿ‘‡โœ… Who you areโœ… What kind of art or creative stuff fires you upโœ… Bonus: Share a pic of your workspace or your latest project! Letโ€™s build a laid-back, inspiring corner where we can all learn, share, and have a laugh along the way.Cheers,โ€” Heff ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ”ฅ

If you Were the only human on earth! Would you still Paint?
G'day Guys n Gals! I have this dilemma. I often ask myself this question. If I was the only human on earth but could do whatever I want. Would I still paint? There's a lot that goes into this question for me. Some would say yes it's all they would do. Which I get. Only other artists understand that feeling of electricity that comes when we nail an artwork. That flow state during the process where we totally disconnect from the world and engage with the project in front of us. Shading around the eye giving depth and symmetry then standing back and saying Whowa! I did it! that looks awesome. Now being a truckie for years and a chippie on site, I'm pretty rough around the edges but I do believe. So when I think about this question, Would I still paint being the only human on earth with no one else to see it? I then think of the scripture that says don't hide your light under a bushel for no one else to see. Out of context I know for he was talking about faith but I'm talkin about art... I'd love to here you take on this? Would you still paint if you were the only one to ever see it? For me it'd be yes. That feeling.... It's hard to describe but if you've ever had it.... If you know, you know.

Great question let's know how sincere we are with what we do
๐ŸŽจ Gโ€™day Legends โ€” Fresh Vid
Alright, Iโ€™ll warn you โ€” the introโ€™s a bit awkward (as usual ๐Ÿ˜…), but once I get past that, itโ€™s a fun one. Quick, easy naive painting on a tiny canvas: whimsy flowers, bright colours, and a couple of happy bees buzzing around. Light, cheerful, and anyone can give it a crack. If it sparks something, have a go and drop your version below. โ€” Heff
