I don't like stopping a drawing halfway through, so when have less free time I just draw smaller portraits (roughly 10–15cm across). These three heads took me about 45 mins each, which is perfect for when I need to get my mind off things and the weather's too lousy for a walk. It also feels less like a commitment and I'm more willing to explore different styles or approaches (e.g. this bold outline).

[Admins: if this is not an appropriate post, feel free to delete!] I'm starting to see quite a few spam/bot accounts in this community. Is anyone else seeing the same? What I've seen in the past couple of days: - A user following me as soon as they join the community, with no introduction post or other contributions; - A few users with accounts created on the same day, adding low-effort one-word comments, and liking each other's comments; - A user posting work that is not their own. Maybe it's possible to have an approval process here, or maybe add a pinned post reminding people to report spam. If anyone has any ideas on how else we can make this place better, please share. Recently, @Chris Legaspi, @Gimmel Goffe and I had a really interesting conversation and Drawing vs Painting. I’m in the belief that personally, drawing and linework is much more difficult than painting. Where describing form In line is extremely difficult for me because my brain starts drawing my ideas of what I’m looking at, instead of what’s actually going on. As opposed to painting, I’m forced to see edge and value and describe it as such. So what do you guys think? Is line drawing harder or easier than painting in your experience?
