Staking and pruning tomatoes..
What are everyone's thoughts on the best way to stake and prune tomatoes ? I get the feeling that some you tube videos are a bit gimmicky, in regard to single stem vines growing 10 feet tall and needing a small scissor lift to harvest? Maybe double leaders perhaps? Also I've cut some great sturdy 6-8ft bamboo stakes.. Just wondering how close to push them into the plant.. probably just beside the current root ball ??? This is my first real effort trying hard.. my first attempt sprawled all over the ground, had the wettest summer on record then got hammered by Cyclone Gabrielle.. My soil is so dead, not a worm to be found, but I refuse to use chemical fertilisers.. I'm going to top dress with an organic fertiliser and some more decent compost soon..

@Kayleen West well said cheers, yes I have a few double leaders and trying to do mainly single stem indeterminates.. let's see if I can tame them, or whether anarchy prevails šŸ˜…

@Barb Halikas cheers post a few photos, would be interested. My indeterminate are growing up bamboo stakes, I'm using string clipped to those circular clips that go around the stems
They Said Vlogging is Dead?
The old way of Vlogging doesn't work in social media and on YouTube, but it's still alive and well here. Why? Because this community isn't based on an algorithm to sell add space and we are free to follow watch and interact with whoever we choose. Today I have been curating and Vlogging on the topic of wheat and my journey today with bread. Will all 150 members watch it? Nope, but those interested in it will. Vlogging in here is great way for us.all to connect and share our passion. I look forward to see your mini behind the camera vlogs Happy Gardening Marty

@Marty Ware cheers mate it's an inspiration what your doing. I recall a lot of what you mention from the Go Organic course I did (flipping concussion affected my memory) but it's all starting to come back slowly.. hats off to you man. If we had a garden and a grower or two like you on every suburban block, we wouldn't need supermarkets!!

@Marty Ware I'm volunteering at Kelmarna city farm (in Auckland) at the moment it's a really cool place, it's worth checking out their website.
UPDATES TO THE CLASSROOM
As promised from the start, I said I would share updates with the community. I have changed the branding to a more vintage look and feel all over the community pages. Here are the images created for the new classroom look and feel. My goal is to keep improving these modules over time to make them highly educational with easy-to-follow implementation. They look much better, yes, to the older green banners for the courses? Those who are using the affiliate model here are allowed access to these images and can request original files from me if needed. Happy Gardening Marty

Fantastic! I have been wanting to get into making Spelt Sourdough foe a while now.. Spelt I think is an ancient heritage grain... possibly the Spelt flour available will still be ground incorrectly? Maybe try to source unground.. and stone grind ???

@Marty Ware I just watched it, thanks for that. Yes all very true sadly. We need to treat our gut like the soil microbiome, with care!
THE SNAKE STORY
I had no choice but to tackle this Python fast while he was in the top part of the Quail tractor hiding. If he bolted down to the second layer where the Quail were it could have gotten nasty!
