Recently came back after injury
For context I also do rock climbing because i think the benefits from it greatly help me with MMA. So on october 26th I tore ligaments in my ankle and was out for a couple of weeks and gradually came back because I had a fight in December. I stepped in the cage on December 14th and lost my fight in the second round by TKO because I dislocated my knee after sprawling on my opponent. After that injury I was out until I started coming back very gradually last week. my physiotherapist says I am not allowed to do BJJ or MMA for a while but Muay Thai/kickboxing is okay. Anywho tonight I sparred again for the first time since december, and let me tell you it did not go well lol. I kept focusing on making sure my knee was solid and I was scared to do too agressive side mouvements or kicks. Im definetly gonna have to start trusting my knee more and bring the focus back to the footwork. My reflexes seemed to not be there either, I was flinching alot and I ate alot of punches that shouldnt be difficult to block. I think I will have to come back to the basics for a while and get my head back in the game! I wanna go back to the gym full time like pre-injury but I feel like I lost alot of skill and I have alot to do to catchup to where I was pre-injury.
