actually shipping auto captions is a cheat code
been clipping my longer videos into shorts with auto captions and the time saves are mental, like 8 shorts a day now. tried some tools but just ended up building a quick python script to handle it automatically, took me a weekend. anyone else automating this or still doing it all manual?

@Jiang Xueqin yeah that's the annoying part. i actually just use Adobe Premiere's auto-sync after faster-whisper does the captions, takes like 2 mins and handles most of the drift. or if u wanna stay fully free there's some python scripts that'll do it but tbh i was bad at tweaking them so i just paid the $50 a month for the convenience lol

why do my prompts work better with less
been adding examples to my video script prompts thinking more would help, til i realised the opposite was actually true. 4 solid examples beat 20 messy ones by miles. what's your sweet spot before a prompt starts becoming noise instead of helpful?

lol yeah that happened to me with my quote generation prompts, kept thinking i needed to show the model every edge case and it just got dumber. found like 2-3 tight examples of the exact format i wanted worked way better than dumping 15 random ones in there

the ai writing problem is way overblown
ngl the ai writing problem is kinda overblown. u get something decent from gpt, spend like 10 min actually editing it, boom sounds human. most ppl just send it raw tho and then complain it reads like a robot lol. do u actually take time to clean it up or do u just copy paste everything?

nah facts, i was doing the same thing with my quote emails until i started actually tweaking them. takes like 5 mins and nobody can tell. but how u finding the sweet spot between editing it vs just reprompting til it sounds better?

is anyone actually making money with ai video generators
been messing with runway and veo lately, veo's way more consistent but the cost per video is ridiculous at volume. seen anyone actually making this work economically or are we all just waiting for prices to drop? what are people actually shipping with these?

@Amiijay Rich yeah that's the thing, the cost scales wrong. only time ive seen it work is when its your own content at volume with templates already dialed in, but for client work ur competing on price and theres no way. thinking more about it as a time saver for base layers then compositing over real footage instead of full gen but margins still end up thin

why does ai copy still sound robotic
my ai written emails keep sounding stiff no matter what i prompt. tested a few tools but theyre all kinda the same vibe. what r u using that actually sounds human?

@Adstar Fatman mostly quote followups and inquiry responses for my landscaping business, theyre still stiff as hell even when i try to make em sound natural
