This is a really good question that I had to really think in depth about since I’ve never come across this type of question before. Three other relationship lessons that I want a man to have learned before he dates/courts/pursues me are: ❤️ 1. How can we serve and honor God together and reflect His love? - He must first understand and know that in order to be able to love me well, he will need to love God first above all and have his identity rooted in Christ Jesus. - He has an understanding of what God is calling him to do with his life in terms of his purpose, calling, mission, vision, and values; and how I fit or am in alignment to be his future helpmeet/helpmate in those areas. - He wants to build good habits of shared spiritual growth and purposeful service. Amos 3:3 “Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?” ❤️ 2. He takes the initiative with a servant leadership heart. - This can be demonstrated by leading with a posture of love, grace, integrity, honesty, encouragement, reliability/dependability, humbleness, respectful communication, as well as with the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control) Galatians 5:22-23 ❤️ 3. He understands and can walk in his duty to protect our hearts, our purity, and our spiritual well-being. - This can be demonstrated by establishing clear boundaries early on that prevents us from falling or giving into temptations, creating emotionally safe & physically safe environments for the both of us, making intentions known honorably, valuing me as an individual and sister in Christ, taking responsibility and accountability, and showing up consistently in both deeds and words to build trust and security. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends…”

As I think about this post more, I’m starting to think about the Proverbs 31 example woman. She is called blessed and praised by her husband. Her character enhances her husband’s reputation in the land. “The heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life.” - Proverbs 31:11-12
