A Change of plans for the MYAL Virtual Fashion Show
Hello my lovely MYAL knitters 🧶 I need to share a change of plan with you, and I want to be honest about why. It has been a difficult few days for me and I have been quite affected. Those of you who follow me on Instagram will very likely now what I am referring to. Right now, I am not in the right place to host a live celebration the way I planned. And I do not want that to take away from what this event was meant to be: a celebration of YOU and all the work you have done. For many of you, this was your first all-over colourwork sweater, your first steek, your first time trying something out of your comfort zone. And that deserves to be celebrated properly, not under a dark cloud. So here is what I would love you to do instead. Please reply to this thread with: ❤️ your favourite photo of your Rujuu Sweater, whether it is a WIP or FO. ✨ 3 words that describe your Rujuu knitting experience 🤔 One thing that surprised you (a challenge or a win) 💡 One thing you would do differently next time We will celebrate together here, on Skool, and I promise I will be cheering for each and every one of you. Thank you for your patience with me this week. I am so proud of what you have all made. 🤍

I'm glad you're taking care of yourself. Inspiring, exciting, addictive. This was my first experience knitting a pattern of yours and I was so amzazed with how it felt like a class, with all your notes and videos. Using stash yarns and leftovers feels like painting with yarn and has my mind racing and dreaming of yarn combinations to work at using up my stash. For future projects, i will pay more attention to having enough of the same yarns to work in the matching bands in the sleeves. Since finishing, I have now knit your first 2 Do Ewe Knit patterns! A marvelous experience of feeling like part of a like minded group all over the world. Thank you so very much and I look forward to many more projects of yours.

@Claire Fletcher Thanks so much, Claire. I seem to have so much body heat that I'm always pushing up long sleeves, so I've started knitting most of my cool weather sweaters with this length and it works perfect for me.

Now that I've finished my 2 WIPs (photos to follow when dry from blocking), I started this pattern yesterday: Finer Pagan Sky. Once I get to the colorwork section, I get caught in the "just one more row" mindset!!!

Pleased to be able to bring this project back to active knitting for the spring KAL. I had to put it on hold while knitting a sweater for a friend. Do Ewe Yoke #1.

WIP #1 (Do Ewe Yoke #1) is soaking to be blocked shortly. Photo to follow once it's dry. I'm now working on WIP #2 (Do Ewe Yoke #2). Funny story on this one. I had gotten to the point of only having the second sleeve left to knit when I discovered I didn't have the last skein needed like I thought I did. No problem I thought, I would order another skein and alternate rows of MC with the skein ordered and what I still had left. But when the new skein came, the dyelot was too different so that plan wouldn't work. So I frogged the first sleeve to the point where Chart C of the colorwork finished and will now reknit the sleeves adding charts D & E of the colorwork to the sleeves so I will require less of the MC. Scale in the ready to make sure this will work! Fingers crossed!

Almost done
My interpretation of the Rujuu. I had to try to make it a little different, still my first try on colourwork... and I am now a complete colourwork fan 🥰 to me it feels like painting, just now with yarn 💕 (am also working on the original one).

@Inge Sjøland I'm so impressed with this being your first CW project. And yes, CW is indeed like painting with yarn.

Like so many, I learned to knit from my gramma when I was a child but never did anything until I was an adult. And about 20 years ago, I dug back in.
