Kubernetes Up, AWS Down: What DevOps Skills Matter in 2025?
⚙️ Kubernetes keeps growing and cloud trends are shifting too. Just look at this chart from 2024 vs 2025 DevOps job market trends. Kubernetes is still going up next year. If you’re wondering where to focus your time, this is your sign. One interesting shift: ☁️📉 AWS demand is going down ☁️📈 Azure is climbing. ✅ What this means for you: - ⚙️ Get real practice with Kubernetes. A home lab helps a lot. - ☁️ Don’t sleep on Azure, research what is in demand near you. But don't ignore trends. - 🔗 Learn how tools connect: Helm, GitOps, security, CI/CD, it all fits together. This chart makes it clear, core skills like Kubernetes stay valuable even as tools come and go. If you want unbeatable hands-on Kubernetes experience, that’s exactly what we build inside KubeCraft. What are you doubling down on for 2025?

I see Ansible and Pulumi in the list but I don't see Terraform? Anyone have any idea how Terraform ranks? I prefer Azue of AWS, so this is good news for me.

@Al Etienne No, not rough just different. As you might know work related to the Base there is not usually public. So learning new tech always has to be applied differently in non-commercial organizations. I always make a joke of purposely introducing challenges here during my labs and testing here at KubeCraft. The truth is that having restrictions on software, hardware and even air-gapped environments can make a difference. Even our AWS is a specialized version designed for our type of work. Commercial environments potentially have the option to be a bit more bleed edge. I would like that option sometimes. 🙂

@Sarhan Patel Yeah.... When I became a nerd it was truly a four letter word. It didn't help me at all with the ladies. I had to use a cheat code and find girls on the track team that needed help with math.

Hopefully finish up with my internal CI/CD setup, documentation stack and kick the tires on Crossplane.
