I have had a store for 10-12 years now, but it's only recently that I have started to get serious about this side hustle. In the past, I just sold "extras" of things I made. I went through my listings, maxed out the tags, and started improving the pictures. I noticed a significant uptick once I changed all the listings to free shipping.
Best beginner machine
I’m already having regrets getting a Genmitsu ProverXL 4030 V2 as I’m pretty sure it arrived with a bad motor. I’ve tried everything under the sun and have noticed all other motors have a green light when connected and my Y2 motor does not, only blinks red when it won’t move and gives me an alarm. I paid around $1500 for it so I was thinking it would be decent to start on but I guess you get what you pay for. I’m thinking of sending it back and just biting the bullet and buying a better machine. What would be a good starter CNC that y’all would recommend?

I recently bought a PROVerXL 6050 Plus from them and it's been very good (within my absolute beginner skill level). I have had only one occasion to contact their support, I was missing the cable that connects the optional laser unit to the drag chain's pre-wired connector. They responded within hours and shipped me the cable for free the next day and even followed up to be sure I received it and that it worked. Maybe I was lucky or maybe it's the holiday as others have mentioned. It's hard to adequately weight the reviews you read online because they tend to be negatively biased. After all, if all is going well, you're making sawdust not trolling Reddit...

Maybe my opinion will change if I ever come up with some truly clever idea, but I am devoting no energy to protecting IP at this point. I've had an eBay business for 15 years and had listings copied verbatim, including an inventory code that couldn't possibly mean anything to anyone else. And, of course, he priced his 25% lower than mine! Eh, it's going to happen. I feel like it's more productive to spend my time working on my backlog or designing my next product. Again, if I get a true inspiration, I may look harder at this.

I am a lifelong woodworker just getting started with my first CNC. I already have a decent side hustle business, and I am looking to scale it.
