Bummed I missed it! I was in NY visiting family. So what came up? What did you guys get out of it? Feel free to share like there’s a chance you could teach someone something, like you could contribute something.
Overcoming anxiety
Thanks to everyone who interacted with my first post, I have been busy every Sunday at the moment with Work, dinner, and some service work. Plan is to be on this upcoming Sunday. Having said all this, my weeks have been busy since joining Life Skool and interacting with some of you and you all have given some amazing input. Over the past 4 years I have been dealing with some high anxiety especially when it comes to severe weather. My junior year of college I came home for the weekend and before I went to bed I still remember the sky being green at 11 pm at night no tornados but there were many all over the state of Indiana that night. I heard of some that were down south of Indianapolis that wiped out some of the area they lived in. Fast forward to 2024 I was umpiring a few games including a championship softball game. Next thing I know I feel a very chilly straight line wind on an 80 degree day and when my friend and I looked up at the sky a tornado was coming right down over us. My first instinct was run, get in my car, drive away. I will be honest I still hear those screams of people in fear as they ran to their cars. The rest of the year was fine but then going into 2025 there were many storms that were firing including one that caused me having anxiety attacks every few hours. Heading into 2026 now that I have a job, I am heavily in the agreement of staying safe and not having messy commutes. Yes I always will understand tornadoes and storms happen and yes I also know not everyone will see a natural disaster and it might be rare to see one in general. Over the years I have learned a few things about my anxiety. Today I will share 5: 1. Control what you can control no you cannot control the weather but you can control what you watch stay off weather apps on all hours of the day, focus on the present, 2. Stay prepared know if weather is to come maybe go to the lower level for the night I remember early on when this really spooked me I had many sleepless nights 3. Find something enjoyable but also talk to others as storm anxiety is very real especially when you are alone. The worst thing that could happen is being alone with your thoughts and thinking the worse. Instead, focus on the positives 4. This one has helped me more and more recently when bad weather happens don’t be self centered think about what if your kids at school aren’t safe or cousins or sisters at college aren’t safe do you think this affects them like it affects me. For example when 3 rivers and union city got hit this weekend I was thinking about how hard it has to be for them to keep going especially after all that has happened. 5. Finally, God and I have a heavy relationship on many things but when it comes to storms I often ask him why do storms come with severe potential. I never have got a definitive answer but I can say finding relaxing activities during the time it happens is key to keep yourself going. It is so hard but showing up and working problems out is so important to keep going.

@Govind Nadathur I was so impressed that you did this and your whole attitude about it, and how you kept going - and eventually broke thru! Heck you even had Carlo join you!

How was your week + Weekly Call this Sunday!!
Hey guys! Hope you had a phenomenal week, and are excited for our event with THE Dr. Mark Matthews Saturday at 10 AM Eastern! It's gonna be a movie. In addition, as always, we will be having our Sunday Weekly call at 4:30. Get ready to learn an incredibly powerful habit of high performers -- that may change your life! I wanted to share a quick tidbit about my week. At work, we are actually preparing for a VERY big tech company (you can probably guess the name, haha), to come visit our shop floor at Copeland. We make HVAC technology for AI Datacenters. I'm the youngest guy in our group, and got asked to do a painstaking task of taping the floors. The tape is not easy to put on. I spent multiple days staying there till 6-7 PM trying to do this task, taking 1-2 dozen hours!! I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't in the best mood the whole time. I was complaining a lot in my head, and was wondering why me, an engineer, had to do this a boring and lame task like this. Then, after a couple days of being down, and sharing my mood with my high performance partner, @Casey Kaufman, I realized that this my mindset and attitude wasn't helping my performance. Casey challenged me to reframe my struggle! Instead of being energized and motivated to serve others, I was just focusing on how annoyed I felt. Then I thought: how do I actually want to show up at work? What type of team member do I want to be? My vision is to be the team member that energizes others to perform at their highest levels at work! I want to be the reason we strike gold during this AI revolution, and be the light, and not the darkness, haha, in the office. Although a small example, reframes like these are huge -- because problems are inevitable in our lives, and it matters how we intentionally view them for growth. Please share how your week was, and feel free to share a struggle + reframe! - Govind

You guys don’t want to miss today’s workshop with Mark Matthews. I’ll be there! @Govind Nadathur love how you caught yourself (with the help of @Casey Kaufman ). When I read about you taping out the floor for where the new manufacturing equipment layout, I thought to myself ‘I wonder if Govind realizes he’s in a unique position to help his team by discovering where plans meet reality?’ Now that the plan is taped out on the floor - you get to be the first one to find any problems or potential improvements with the layout! My week has been amazing. Working on speaking opportunities with schools and also created a marketing plan for growing my community (suuuuuper psyched about both). The week prior was very challenging in that both @Vlad and I got thrown off our rhythm - and it was our weekly calls that got us back on track (account-a-bill-a-buddies). First me the trap/trigger was getting hit with a Nor’easter blizzard that dumped 30” and knocked out Pwr for 3 1/2 days. How did it throw me off my rhythm and routine? Displacement & story in my head. Displacement = the demands of the blizzard prep and clearing snow; helping neighbors; dealing with generators; internet down; cell reception throttled down Story in my head: I love a good snow storm - love being out in it; being helpful to my neighbors felt amazing being so useful and rescuing them; the excuse of the storm (I had a lot of down time - and could have used it to write and plan, record videos) Amazing how a big ‘natural disaster’ can throw you off - “everyone is without power and can’t go anywhere (we actually had a travel ban)”; But more importantly - because I have a daily/wkly/monthly reflection routine, it helps me see how my big DECISIONS/goals that I’m committed to has way more power than any distractions that may derail us (not even a big snowstorm). In fact - well into the storm I realized how much I was off my routine and discovered that our local coffee shop had power and internet and I went and got back on track.
