Friday Night🔥🔥
How did you spend your Friday night? In Korea, we call Friday night “Bulgeum (불금),” which literally means “Fire Friday.” 🔥 It’s a fun expression because Friday nights are usually when people go out and enjoy themselves after a long week. As for me, I had pizza and fried chicken with my friends, along with a bottle of wine. 🍕🍗🍷 It was such a fun and relaxing night! How about you? What did you do on Friday night?

Don't say 'Good moring!' -> 좋은 아침입니다! We say 'Did you sleep well?' -> 잘 잤어요? 😴 [jal jat-sseo-yo?] ➡️ Instead of literally translating "Good morning," Koreans usually ask "Did you sleep well?" 🤔 Why? Saying "좋은 아침입니다" in Korean sounds like a news anchor or a robot 🤖 It's textbook Korean, not something people actually say to each other. Among friends and family, the natural morning greeting is to ask "Did you sleep well?" instead. It's less about announcing the morning and more about caring how you slept 💛 Examples: - Mom to daughter: "Did you sleep well? Time for school~" "잘 잤어? 학교 가야지~" [jal ja-sseo? hak-gyo ga-ya-ji~] - To a friend: "Sleep well? What are you up to today?" "잘 잤어? 오늘 뭐 해?" [jal ja-sseo? o-neul mwo hae?] - To a partner: "Babe, sleep well? I missed you." "자기야, 잘 잤어? 보고 싶었어 🥰" [ja-gi-ya, jal ja-sseo? bo-go si-peo-sseo] ✍️ Now it's your turn! Try replying in the comments "I slept well!" (잘 잤어요!) [jal ja-sseo-yo] or "No, I didn't sleep well 😩" (아니요, 잘 못 잤어요) [a-ni-yo, jal mot ja-sseo-yo]! 👇

안녕하세요!! How are you doing? Today, I had Bulgogi! It’s sweet, savory, and a little bit salty. Korean food has so many rich and diverse flavors. Today, let’s learn key Korean words for tastes (맛)! - 매워요 [mae-wo-yo] = It's spicy Ex) 라면은 매워요. (Ramen is spicy.) - 달아요 [da-ra-yo] = It's sweet. Ex) 떡볶이는 달아요. (Tteokbokki is sweet.) - 셔요 [syeo-yo] = It's sour. Ex) 김치는 셔요. (Kimchi is sour.) - 써요 [sseo-yo] = It's bitter. Ex) 커피는 써요. (Coffee is bitter.) - 짜요 [jja-yo] = It's salty Ex) 간장은 짜요. (Soy sauce is salty.) Which taste is your favorite?😋 I love spicy food!🌶️
