[START HERE] - Welcome To Photography Skool (DO NOT SKIP)
First off, welcome! I’m Jan Danielewicz, a creative entrepreneur, photographer, and mentor. My passion lies in helping other creatives like YOU turn your passion for photography into a thriving business. With that being said this is YOUR space to grow, connect, and learn alongside other talented creatives. To get started on the right foot, I’ve put together this post to guide you. My tip: Take your time! We want to know who you are as a person. In your introduction, you can mention the following: - What is your name and how old are you? - Where are you from? - What kind of photography do you do/want to do? These questions are just a few templates for you. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go through the introductions every now and then and feel free to respond using the REPLY button (: PS: It's definitely worth activating the bell on this post so you know when someone new introduces themselves.

This already makes me stressed just thinking about it 😅 What do you say?

It depends. In our niche (real estate), we typically work with the same clients and we do 1-5 shoots per day. Signing contract each time is not realistic. And we deliver all the photos before the payment. I know some companies in Canada send invoices once per month (for all the pervious work). In US photographers typically require payment before photos can be downloaded. But contracts is a rare thing in real estate photography. That does not mean I do not recommend contracts. In my opinion you should always sign contracts. But real estate is just a different market.
How do YOU find your clients?
I'm a real estate photographer, so my niche is pretty straightforward — my ideal client is realtors. That clarity makes it relatively easy to build automated marketing systems around them. But I'm curious about those of you in family, portrait, or other niches: 🤔 How do YOU find your clients? Is your ideal customer profile just as clear, or is it more scattered? Also — how many of you shoot multiple niches? Do you combine real estate photography with family/portrait work, sports, nature, or do you stick to one? Would love to hear how everyone approaches this!

@Jeff Celistal Great niche and great strategy! By the way, you can probably automate this process by scraping data from Google Maps.

@Jan Danielewicz , @Jeff Celistal Yes, Apify does this. For example this one: https://apify.com/compass/crawler-google-places?fpr=1sk85q It will require some time to set this all up, but it is possible. A typical workflow looks like this: Apify scraper finds information about the companies in a specific area, then you may need to enrich the data with emails (Anymailfinder or Perplexity AI, or uProc) -> upload data to CRM -> send emails/ text messages, or even a voice drop. That's how I find my clients and do automated outreach. My scraper finds recent listings on Realtor and Zillow, then finds realtor contact info, then adds them to my CRM -> CRM send my offer. It works automatically 24/7. Email open rate around 60%, CTR 10%. I got most of my clients this way.
Website
Almost finished the makeover of my website. Just a few minor issues to fix. Even have my SEO already on 86/100. So going pretty well. In a few days I guess I will be done and can start updating my portfolio there as well. For the ones who like to check it out; www.mawe-fotografie.nl It's in Dutch though, and still under construction. But feel free to share your thoughts about it.

@Matt Westerlaken Great website! Using WordPress is a very good choice. Consider adding FAQs sections on every page and create a separate FAQ page with all possible questions and answers from your clients (GPT can compose it). This helps a lot, especially for AI search results (because people are looking for answers). And then apply JSON Schema to FAQ and other pages too.

@Matt Westerlaken forgot to mention - also add questions and answers to you Google Business Profile. This will give a huge boost.
